A Constant Term Identity

نویسنده

چکیده

Andrews's recent proof of the Mills-Robbins-Rumsey conjectured formula for the number of totally symmetric self-complementary plane partitions is used to derive a new multi-variate constant term identity, reminiscent of, but not implied by, Macdonald's BC,-Dyson identity. The method of proof consists in translating to the language of constant terms an expression of Doran for the desired number in terms of sums of minors of a certain matrix. The question of a direct proof of the identity, which would furnish an alternative proof of the Mills-Robbins-Rumsey conjecture, is raised, and a prize is offered for its solution. © 1994 Academic Press, Inc.

In the history of architectural conservation, conservators or conservation theorists’ viewpoint regarding the identity of historical places, particularly from the perspective of facing change, is one of the most significant bases of the conservation theories. A Laurent Series Proof of the Habsieger-Kadell $q$-Morris Identity

We give a Laurent series proof of the Habsieger-Kadell q-Morris identity, which is a common generalization of the q-Morris identity and the Aomoto constant term identity. The proof allows us to extend the theorem for some additional parameter cases.

Aomoto’s machine and the Dyson constant term identity

Abstract. Aomoto has used the fundamental theorem of calculus to give an elegant proof of an extension of Selberg’s integral. A constant term formulation of Aomoto’s argument is based upon the fact that for 1 ≤ s ≤ n, the constant term in ts ∂/∂ts f(t1, . . . , tn) is zero provided that f(t1, . . . , tn) has a Laurent expansion around t1 = · · · = tn = 0. We use this as the engine for a simple ...

Culture and Identity: Linking Iranian Identity Components and Cultural Dimensions

Iranian identity cannot be conceived of as a uniform monolithic concept. But, thanks to certain upheavals in the history of the country, it has turned into the triple concept of national/Islamic/modern. Hofstede’s (2001) cultural framework represents a well-validated operationalization of culture based on six cultural dimensions  (power distance, individualism/collectivism, masculinity/feminini...

A Proof of Andrews ' < ? - Dyson Conjecture for «

Andrews' g-Dyson conjecture is that the constant term in a polynomial associated with the root system An _, is equal to the ^-multinomial coefficient. Good used an identity to establish the case q = 1, which was originally raised by Dyson. Andrews established his conjecture for n < 3 and Macdonald proved it when a¡ = a2 = ■ ■ ■ = a„ = 1,2 or oo for all n > 2. We use a ¿/-analog of Good's identi...
